Gilston is proud to have been part of the amazing construction team for New York's new Moynihan Train Hall. The skilled electricians of Gilston helped transform the historic Farley Post Office into a new high-tech concourse of light and color for the western hemisphere's busiest transportation hub.
In its effort to exceed accommodations for more than 10 million annual guests, Resorts World Casino and Hotels, Genting New York, and Plaza Construction hired Gilston Electric to team up for the casino’s $200 million expansion. The high-end hospitality site demanded a best-in-class electrical system for a new ground-up nine-story, 400-room hotel, casino floors, retail shops, and back-of-house areas.
More than 250,000 pedestrians access the World Trade Center Transportation Hub each day in the PATH Station powered by Gilston Electric. The station is the primary access point to the NJ PATH trains and 11 of New York City’s subway lines and Gilston provided corrosion control systems, traction power systems and signal work for the project.
Gilston has a long history in providing fit-outs for commercial, hospitality and retail tenants and we understand the nuances of working within mixed-use shopping malls and real estate developments. Gilston has built stores in the Westfield World Trade Center Shopping Mall, and in Moynihan Train Hall, as well as individual shops such as Swatch, Magnolia Bakery, Papyrus, Samsonite and Tissot.
The renowned Oculus World Trade Center Transportation Hub allowed Gilston Electric the opportunity to light the way for the city’s celebrated rebuild of the World Trade Center site. Gilston worked within the complexities of the Santiago Calatrava-designed structure by furnishing and installing a custom electrical system for the more than 400,000 square-foot Transit Hall, which houses the largest mixed-use shopping complex in Manhattan.
