About the project

The renowned Oculus World Trade Center Transportation Hub allowed Gilston Electric the opportunity to light the way for the city’s celebrated rebuild of the World Trade Center site. Gilston worked within the complexities of the Santiago Calatrava-designed structure by furnishing and installing a custom electrical system for the more than 400,000 square-foot Transit Hall, which houses the largest mixed-use shopping complex in Manhattan.

The energetic center of business and commerce required independent power from eight emergency generators, spot networks, and specialized systems for 125 retail spaces, in addition to public concourse messaging and life safety systems.
