About the project

Gilston Electric was engaged by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York as the primary contractor for the City College of New York. Gilston undertook a complete rehabilitation of the Grove School of Engineering and comprehensive electrical system installation for the school’s landmark Steinman Hall.

 

The scope of Gilston’s work included four new 4,000 amp incoming electrical services, normal and emergency power distribution throughout classrooms, offices, and laboratories, a new emergency generator, a comprehensive radio frequency fire alarm system, a complete access control apparatus, and telecom systems throughout.
