When death tolls due to COVID-19 devastated New York’s neighborhoods, Gilston Electric sprang into action with two fast track emergency builds in the city’s most ravaged communities: Far Rockaway and Flushing. Gilston helped transform two completely raw lots into fully functioning, medical-ready COVID-19 test sites within a matter of days. Gilston aided in the design and engineering of custom plans for each site based on the power needed to support up to 40 examination trailers with special testing equipment and air conditioning.
Gilston teams worked around the clock to bring the projects to completion ahead of the already expedited schedule. Easily adapting to changes mid-build, Gilston equipped each trailer with 100 amp and 200 amp power and installed the 75 kW generators needed to support the urgent testing of the community.
