About the project

As part of the rehabilitation of the James A. Farley Post Office Building, the U.S. Postal Service consolidated their district offices to 273,000 square feet of brand new modern office space above and adjacent to the new Moynihan Train Hall

On behalf of general contractor Ameresco, Gilston Electric installed access control systems for more than 100 doors, closed circuit television wiring, more than 3,000 tele/data cables, fire alarm and public address systems, and extensive lighting controls. The project resulted in a secure high-tech office and industrial facility within a classic architectural landmark.
The work was completed on an aggressive 12-month schedule without disturbing ongoing operations.

REVITALIZING A CENTURY-OLD LANDMARK FOR THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS

  • Installation of 63 electrical panels.

  • Over 100 access control system doors.
