About the project

More than 650,000 commuters pass through Penn Station each day and Gilston Electric played a key role in upgrading the platforms and mechanical rooms beneath both Penn Station and the new Moynihan Train Hall. Gilston’s enhancements included a complex electrical system for six complete new fan rooms, including generators, and a layout strategy that protects equipment while accommodating possible future extensions.

Gilston also made modifications to the station platforms, which required full furnishing and installation of new lighting and receptacle outlets throughout the Train Hall and Mechanical Rooms.
